Advanced open water Diving Course 

Course Goals 

Improving diving ability and the ability to face with different diving situations, acquiring additional knowledge, both theoretical and practical, developing thought processes and decision making for diving. 

Admission Requirements 

1 star level diving 

At least 15 years old by the beginning of the course (under the age of 18 requires parental signature)/ under the age of 15 – 2 star junior dive – without deep sea dive 

Health declaration 

Valid insurance 

Successfully passing a refresher dive if it has been over 6 months since last dive. 

General Course Structure 

The course is made up of mainly of practical exercises and experience in the water. Each subject has a preliminary theoretical lesson which provides the background for practical exercises. 

Course Subjects 

The diver and the water environment 

Diving planning (Principles of choosing the site and determining the diving route taking into account ocean conditions, tables and oxygen time) 

Finding your bearings (with the aid of natural factors and compass) 

Night diving 

Diving depth of between 24 to 30 meters – under the age of 15 – do not depth dive – this can be accomplished after the age of 15 and a new certificate will be issued 

Aiding a diver in distress 

Alternate subject – diving in poor visibility with permits and restrictions (Only performed in night diving) 

Course Duration 

2 days 

Qualification 

Passing successfully all the theoretical subjects and receiving a signature from the trainer in the diving log 

Successfully passing the practical test 

Permits and Limitations – 2 stars 

A trainee who meets all course requirements, is permitted to dive up to 30 meters with a same level or higher partner. Is permitted to accompany another diver with one star (limited to one star depth) 

Permits and Limitations for Junior 2 star diver 

Diver who has successfully passed a junior divers course under the age of 15, can perform the lessons in this course, except for depth, which can be made up after reaching 15, may dive up to depth of 20 meters, when accompanied by a diver with at least 2 stars over the age of 21

This course is intended to turn the beginning diver into a diver with a wider range of view as a diver with the ability to make reliable decisions raising the safety level and performing enjoyable diving
